The PetJet U40® is a needle-free injector designed for subcutaneous delivery of U40 insulin (e.g., Vetsulin or Caninsulin) to companion animals like cats and dogs. It offers a safe, stress-free alternative to traditional needle injections.

Yes! The PetJet® U40 is designed for use by both pet owners and veterinarians. With proper training, you can administer insulin to your pet at home confidently and comfortably.

PetJet® comes with adaptors for:

  • 2.7 ml cartridges (use our cartridge adaptor)
  • 2.5 ml vials (use our vial adaptor)
  • 10 ml vials (use our vial adaptor)

These adaptors ensure easy transfer of insulin into the PetJet® nozzle before each injection.

PetJet® uses a high-speed jet stream to deliver insulin into the subcutaneous layer of the skin. This method is painless, reduces anxiety, and minimizes the risk of infection or injury.

No special cleaning or maintenance is required. If the accessories get dirty during or between use, it is advised to replace them.

  • The injector is reusable for up to 5,000 injections.

  • The nozzle is pet-specific and can be used for up to 14 days.

  • Used adaptors and nozzles can be discarded in regular household waste—no sharps container needed.

Absolutely. PetJet® is calibrated for precise dosing and designed to minimize discomfort. It’s especially beneficial for pets with needle sensitivity or anxiety.

Yes:

  • Injector: Up to 5,000 injections

  • Nozzle: Up to 14 days per pet

  • Adaptors: Single-use, recyclable

The same PetJet® injector can be used on multiple animals, but the Nozzle will need to be replaced for every animal. The Nozzle will need to be disposed after each injection in this use scenario. Do not connect the used Nozzle with the Adaptor.
  • Faster absorption and onset of action compared to conventional needle-based injections

  • Reduced risk of intramuscular injection

  • No needle-stick injuries or cross-contamination

The PetJet® may make a loud noise if the Nozzle is not completely filled with medication prior to the actuation of the device. This may scare the animal. If a clear pool of liquid remains visible on the skin at the injection site, the injection can be assumed to be unsuccessful. A successful injection will leave a small pin prick.
Yes. By eliminating needles and syringes, PetJet® reduces biohazardous waste and simplifies disposal. Each pet using PetJet® can eliminate up to 1,000 needles annually.

Definitely. Its ease of use, rapid administration, and minimal agitation make it ideal for busy practices and sensitive patients.
